Pump Overview

A new electric paddle board pump on the scene for 2019 is OutdoorMaster’s The SHARK, a dual-stage pump capable of inflating up to four iSUPs in a row to 20 PSI.

A brand that is relatively unknown in the SUP industry, this is OutdoorMaster’s first paddle board accessory and it seems to be selling quite well for the company thus far. The main focus of OutdoorMaster’s business up to this point has been a range of skiing, camping, and hiking gear.

Initially launched through an Indiegogo campaign where the company’s backers raised $23,544 for the project, The SHARK is advertised as “the most intelligent 12V high-pressure pump”. Powered by a 12V car connector cable that plugs directly into the cigarette lighter or accessory adapter in your vehicle, The SHARK features a high-precision sensor, easy-to-read LCD display, touch button controls, inflation/deflation ports, and a safety auto-shutoff feature.

The SHARK’s design looks quite a bit different from other electric SUP pumps that we’ve reviewed this season. The plastic outer casing features a rounded profile with a carrying handle built-in to one side for easy transport.

OutdoorMaster has obtained both CA65 and CE ratings for The SHARK.

As far as the pump’s warranty goes, OutdoorMaster offered a lifetime warranty for their Indiegogo backers but now that the pump is out of production, The SHARK is only covered for 1-year.

Also included with The SHARK SUP pump is a flexible inflation hose, three nozzles (H3, cone-shaped, and round), and three gaskets for the perfect connection to your board’s valve. It’s compatible with the majority of inflatable SUPs on the market so there’s a pretty good chance that it’ll work with your board. 

When inflating an iSUP with The SHARK, the pump will begin in stage one which is capable of adding up to 350 L per minute of volume to a fully deflated board. Once the pressure gauge has reached 1 PSI, the pump switches over to stage two which adds up to 70 L of volume per minute.

The SHARK’s push-button controls and LCD make it easy to select your target PSI and the pump’s digital sensor accuracy is reported to be 0.01 PSI. Once the target inflation pressure has been reached, The SHARK automatically shuts off, preventing over inflation.
