THURSO Surf 2021 Waterwalker Paddle Board Launch Preview

THURSO Surf’s 2021 edition of their popular Waterwalker all-around paddle boards are here after a slight (now all-to-common COIVD-related shipping and ports) delay. A multi-year Top Pick winner on our site, the trio of Waterwalkers have received several significant updates for this season.

The 2021 Waterwalker SUPs are immediagely available immediately and Thurso continues to sell the current versions of their specialty iSUPs in their paddle board lineup. We expect that updates to those boards may come later this year.

New Waterwalker Construction

New for this season, THURSO has upgraded to woven drop-stitch construction for their Waterwalker boards. This advanced construction technology for the inner shell reduces the SUP’s weight by several pounds, increases its strength and stiffness when inflated, yet makes the board more pliable and easier to roll up when deflated. What’s not to love!

Refreshed Look for for 2021

Never fear, the Waterwalker SUPs have kept their iconic woodgrain deck styling. They have, however, slightly refreshed their design with a cleaner color block pattern on the deck pad, removing the center stripe.

More significantly, THURSO has listened to the requests of many fans and has now made all three lengths of the Waterwalkers available in three colors: Crimson, Turquoise & Tangerine. Previously, each model was only available in a single color denoting its length.

Waterwalker Accessory Updates for 2021

THURSO already featured one of the best sets of included accessories with their Waterwalker SUPs. However, they made two significant improvements for this season:

Updated Carbon Fiber Hybrid Paddle 

Already perhaps our favorite paddle that’s included in a SUP package due to its uniquely comfortable grip, THURSO upgraded their paddle blade this year to a new carbon/nylon composite material that is surprisingly lighter.

Updated Dual-Chamber, Triple-Stage Pump 

The new pump features removable handles and folding feet that allow it to pack up compactly and store easily in smaller spaces.

Models & Specs

The Waterwalker family has three boards — all continue to have the same dimensions and shape as previous seasons. It’s worth noting that unlike most brands, THURSO all-around boards get narrower as they get shorter.
