The 2021 NAUTICAL SUPs have arrived… and to a lot of pent-up demand by the looks of it. iROCKER’s entry-level budget line was first introduced in 2020 as an affordable board for beginners, families who may need to buy multiple paddle boards, or any paddler on a budget. The combination of quality construction, trusted customer support, basic-but-not-too-basic features, and affordable pricing was an instant winner and NAUTICAL quickly became one of the most searched boards on our site last year.

Not ones to rest on their laurels, iROCKER SUP has been busy updating their entire lineup of paddle boards for the 2021 season, but perhaps the biggest changes are were for the newest members of the family, the Nautical 10’6″ and the Nautical 11’6″.

New Look for 2021

The Nauticals have upped their game in the design department for the new season with a stronger use of contrasting colors and and more prominently featuring the Nautical compass logo at the front of the board. The EVA foam deck has a narrower and higher contrast pinstripe groove that looks nicer.

New color schemes have been introduced as well for more choices, including Blue, Sky Blue, Teal, and Gray. The overall effect for 2021 is a board that looks more polished and less basic than before.

New Features

As a budget board you understand that it can’t necessarily have all the bells and whistles of SUPs costing quite a bit more. So it came as a bit of a surprise when iROCKER managed to add all of the following to the Nautical paddle boards after just one year on the market:

  • An M8 threaded action mount
  • A 6-point rear bungee cargo area
  • Removable child safety grab handles at both the front and rear cargo areas

That’s in addition to the already solid existing feature set including a front 6-point bungee cargo area, 3 carry handles, 3 removable fins, and 11 D-rings.

New Backpack

The biggest change to the accessories this season was the newly upgraded backpack which now has a bungee storage area on the front as well as a deep accessory pocket down the front accessed by a zipper. These join the existing mesh side paddle pockets and compression straps. The bag also now has the option for a strap on wheel tray accessory that converts it into a rolling bag.

This makes it probably the nicest bag we’ve seen on a budget board and nicer than some of the bags that we see on some mid-range boards.

The remaining accessories — 3 piece fiberglass paddle, 2-stage pump, 10 foot coiled leash, and repair kit — remain largely unchanged.
