A fairly fresh name on the SUP scene, Bluefin SUP has wasted no time in designing an impressive line of value-packed inflatable paddle boards and establishing itself as a serious competitor in the industry. The Bluefin SUP lineup continues to grow and the company now has a total of 10 boards ranging in size from 8′ to 18′ in length.

The new Cruise Carbon 12′ model sits right in between the company’s smaller Cruise Carbon 10’8″ and the larger Cruise Carbon 15′ tandem SUP. While the other two boards are designed primarily for all-around and tandem paddling, the 12′ model is providing stiff competition to the SUP industry’s best touring SUPs. Bluefin also offers a lower-priced version for budget-minded paddlers, the Cruise 12′.

As mentioned, the Cruise Carbon 12′ comes loaded with features that give you a lot of exciting ways to use the board. One particularly nice feature is the handy GoPro action camera mount at the nose which you can use to capture awesome photos and videos of your on-the-water adventures.

The board also features front and rear bungee storage areas for increased cargo capacity (perfect for camping excursions) and there are four grab handles located at the nose, tail, and rails for easier handling in and around the water.

The board’s traction pad features a diamond croc pattern and the center carrying handle has a Velcro closure that allows it to be used as a paddle holder, a nice feature for those times when you want to take a swim and need a good spot to secure your paddle.

On the bottom of the board is a triple fin setup with two smaller fixed side fins and a large removable center fin. Bluefin SUP upgraded the center fins on their Cruise Carbon models to a US fin box which gives you the ability to experiment with different fins.

One of the things that Bluefin SUP’s Cruise Carbon line is known for is their impressive rigidity, and that is due to the dual-chamber construction and carbon fiber rail reinforcements. The Cruise Carbon SUPs are some of the stiffest inflatable paddle boards on the market at this time which helps them perform more like traditional hard boards.

Since the Cruise Carbon 12′ features two internal inflation chambers, the board has two valves. To pump the board up, you first need to inflate the smaller, center chamber followed by the larger, main chamber.

While each of the Cruise Carbon inflatables can be pumped up to 28 PSI, the recommended inflation pressure is 15-18 PSI.

As mentioned, the Cruise Carbon 12′ comes with a very nice accessory bundle. Included with the board is a wheeled iSUP travel backpack, double-chamber triple-action pump for faster inflation, adjustable carbon fiber paddle, kayak seat kit, shoulder carry strap, waterproof phone pouch, leash, and repair kit.
